Success Stories

Here are three success stories demonstrating how Asia Tech Source has helped its customers complete some of their urgent and proprietary low- cost-country outsourcing projects. These projects, like yours, involve optimizing the four objectives of cost, quality, delivery and service to achieve a lasting success story.

Project 1:Protective Skin for CD/DVD/VCD Continuous Play
Project Type:Plastics/Adhesive/Packaging
End Market:Consumer Retail
Project Timeline:Oct - Jan (4 mos.)
Bottom Line:20,000,000 units (and counting) produced and shipped to U.S. and Europe
Challenge:
ATS located and qualified a manufacturing center with factories in Taiwan and China able to mold and eject thin-walled, high precision, light-weight parts at high speed from engineered resins using a hot runner system. Secondary challenge was high speed deposition of a continuous bead of industrial adhesive on a molded ring, then apply a patented disc of film to the glued ring in a continuous feed environment. Project 2:Self-Adjusting Locking Plier
Project Type:Metals/Forging/Stamping
End Market:Industrial/Automotive
Project Timeline:Jul - Jan (7 mos.)
Bottom Line:300,000 units (and counting) produced and shipped to North America and Europe.
Challenge:
Self-Adjusting Locking Plier ATS was able to identify a manufacturing center in China which produced more-than-expected volume with above-expected quality at less-than- expected costs. Engineering challenge required ATS to achieve high torque levels and lock tightly on any material thickness up to 2" without hand adjustment.

Project 3:Machinist File
Project Type:Metals
End Market:Industrial Tradesmen
Project Timeline:Jan - Dec (12 mos.)
Bottom Line:5,000,000 units (and counting) produced and shipped to U.S.
Challenge:
ATS identified a low-cost file manufacturer in China with good equipment but going out of business. Using its many supplier relationships, ATS was able to convice another supplier to purchase their existing and new file planing and grinding equipment. Engineering challenge required ATS to assist the new factory to learn how to harden, anneal, plane, grind, and cut teeth to meet American industrial file standards. File
