With offices based in China and Taiwan, Gerry Cooper opened in 2001 his own sourcing operation called Asia Tech Source Co., Ltd. which offers North American, European, Latin American, Australian and Japanese companies the opportunity to buy Asian-made finished products and/or OEM parts and/or tooling that have been designed, manufactured, packaged, and inspected to the customer's cost, quality and delivery specifications on-site in Asia. The critical difference between Asia Tech Source and any other trading company or importer is its on-site attention to every detail of quality in engineered designs, first prototypes, first off-tool samples, pilot production runs, and on-going production orders.
When the end customers receive and unpack their shipments, there will not be surprises from sudden changes in the appearance, form, fit, or function of the parts in the production order vs. the last approved sample units. Shipments are guaranteed and backed by Gerry's many years of experience shipping tens of thousands of containers of quality tools and hardware to businesses in North America, Europe and the U.K., Latin America and the Far East. His track record on customer complaints was 0.12% of total containers shipped during the ten-year period 1992 to 2001.
Gerry's Taiwan-based partner is Lillian Shih, General Manager of Asia Tech Source who served as Gerry's Purchasing and Finance Manager for the last 10 years and has over 25 years of international trade experience. Gerry employs his own staff of Chinese procurement engineers, led by Sourcing & Engineering Manager Frank Wang based in Kunshan, China, one hour west of Shanghai.
In 2007, Asia Tech Source invested in their own assembly and packaging factory located in Changzhou, three hours west of Shanghai.
